I'm a bioinformaticist- a computational scientist who specializes in understanding biological data. I use machine learning and statistics to recognize patterns in both DNA and protein sequences. My main research interests are identifying potential new antimicrobial peptides and performing various types of genomic analyses. I'm also interested in improving our visual understanding of genomic information and recently developed SimpleSynteny, a server to help compare syntenic regions across multiple genomes.
